Frequently Asked Questions

Below you will find an overview with frequently asked questions. In case you have questions that are not answered in the list below, please contact the secretariat of the Foundation for the History of Technology (SHT@tue.nl). We will monitor the mailbox also during conference hours.

Browser

  • Does it matter what kind of browser I use for the meeting? No, you can use all browsers.

Connection problems

  • In case your internet connection is not stable please first stop your video.
  • It is possible to join the meetings by phone. Please contact the SHT Helpdesk for instructions at SHT@tue.nl.

Guide for Presenters

  • In case you experience any problems a SHT-host will be in the virtual meeting room. You can also contact SHT@tue.nl to contact the SHT Helpdesk.
  • It is possible to show PowerPoint presentations etc. by screen sharing.

Helpdesk

  • In case you need help please contact the SHT Secretariat at SHT@tue.nl. You can reach the SHT Secretariat Helpdesk during conference hours.

Login

  • The conference website is the central hub of the conference. All registered participants receive an e-mail containing login details for the password protected part of the website. With the link in the e-mail you will be able to select your own password with which you can enter the password protected part of the website.
  • Unable to find the mail with login details or lost your password?: Go directly to the login page via this link. Your username is the e-mail address you used for registration. Click on ‘Lost your password?’ and follow the instructions.
  • Click ‘Go to the ZOOM Platform’ to find the Zoom-link to the virtual meeting room of each session. Please note that the links only work on the dates/times specified in the program. Hosts will be present to let people in. The host opens the room 15 minutes before a session starts to let the organizer, chair and panelists in.
  • The e-mail that you registered with is your username.
  • In case you forgot your password, you can always set up a new password via the login screen.

Recordings

  • Will sessions be recorded? Plenary and parallel sessions will be recorded. Recordings can be viewed on the password protected part of the website until one month after the meeting.

Time Zone

  • The schedule is set up in CET.

Zoom

  • Using Zoom: Please find a basic Zoom training in this 30 minute on demand training.
  • It is possible to join the meetings by phone. Please contact the SHT Helpdesk for instructions at SHT@tue.nl.
